Le directeur Europe de l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 (OMS) alerte sur l\u2019addiction des jeunes au jeu et, singuli\u00e8rement, aux r\u00e9seaux sociaux. \u00ab\u00a0Nous avons besoin d\u2019une action imm\u00e9diate et soutenue, d\u00e9clare-t-il, pour aider les adolescents \u00e0 mettre fin \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation potentiellement pr\u00e9judiciable des m\u00e9dias sociaux, dont il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu\u2019elle m\u00e8ne \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression, au harc\u00e8lement, \u00e0 l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et \u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats scolaires m\u00e9diocres\u00a0[1]<\/a><\/sup>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon l\u2019OMS, en 2022, 11 % des adolescents (13 % des filles et 9 % des gar\u00e7ons) montrent des signes d\u2019utilisation probl\u00e9matique des r\u00e9seaux sociaux (contre 7 % quatre ans auparavant) <\/sup>[2]<\/a><\/sup>. C\u2019est ce qu\u2019indique une enqu\u00eate men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de 280 000 jeunes de 11, 13 et 15 ans, originaires de 44 pays d\u2019Europe, d\u2019Asie centrale et du Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les sympt\u00f4mes de cette addiction sont l\u2019incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler l\u2019utilisation des r\u00e9seaux sociaux, la sensation de manque et l\u2019abandon d\u2019autres activit\u00e9s au profit du temps pass\u00e9 sur des m\u00e9dias sociaux, les cons\u00e9quences n\u00e9gatives d\u2019une telle utilisation excessive de ces \u00ab outils \u00bb. Des diff\u00e9rences sensibles sont toutefois \u00e0 noter entre pays (graphique ci-dessous) dont il serait utile de conna\u00eetre les raisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00e9tude, bas\u00e9e sur un sondage r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en 2022 de 280 000 jeunes \u00e2g\u00e9s de 11,13 et 15 ans dans 44 pays en Europe, en Asie centrale et au Canada, signale aussi que 34 % des jeunes sont des joueurs quotidiens, dont 22 % au moins quatre heures par jour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les risquent diff\u00e8rent selon les genres. Les filles sont plus souvent accroch\u00e9es aux r\u00e9seaux sociaux que les gar\u00e7ons (13 % contre 9 %). En revanche, en ce qui concerne les jeux vid\u00e9o, \u00ab les diff\u00e9rences entre les sexes dans les habitudes sont frappantes. Les gar\u00e7ons pr\u00e9sentent non seulement des taux plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s de jeu quotidien, mais sont \u00e9galement plus susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper des habitudes de jeu probl\u00e9matiques. Cela souligne la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019interventions cibl\u00e9es qui tiennent compte des motivations et des facteurs de risque propres \u00e0 chaque sexe dans le comportement de jeu \u00bb<\/em>, souligne le Dr Claudia Marino, une des autrices du rapport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
